One In A Million is a Bradford-based charity that helps children & young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, providing education through sports, the arts and enterprise. We have a passion for this great city.
Our Alternative Provision has developed as a result of the Charity’s commitment to community engagement and its extensive experience of delivering successful community based sports learning programmes.
One In A Million Alternative Provision is committed to offering young people career pathways primarily through its BTEC First in Sport qualification, but also via its partnership working with Bradford City Football Club and Bradford Bulls.
Our Alternative Provision has been providing high quality teaching and learning opportunities for young people over the last three years. Following an Ofsted inspection in 2014, we were pleased to secure Independent School status.
We focus on creating a safe and supportive environment for young people to learn in with small teaching groups.
All staff members are committed to supporting young people in engaging with learning, making progress and achieving. As our school name suggests, we, as a staff, value every student as being unique, and our values promote self-reflection, individual social and emotional development and the acquisition of new skills or knowledge. Staff are skilled not only in planning and delivering high quality learning programmes, but also in motivating young people to engage with the activities and tasks they are presented with.
In addition to offering young people a full and diverse alternative curriculum, OIAMAP focuses particularly on its sport delivery and the qualifications it offers within that specific curriculum area. Currently, OIAMAP offers;
- BTEC First in Sport learning programme • Level 1 or 2
- Functional Skills Entry 1 – Level 2 in English and maths
- English GSCE Support
- Maths GCSE Support
